My Hope is in You

by John Miner

Background
This is one of my earliest songs, written in 1997, and it was inspired by the first half of Psalm 25. I think it has ripened well in 25 years, and can now be enjoyed.

I am so happy to have partnered with 2 renowned local musicians, Eric Aceto (violin) and Doug Robinson (upright bass), who brought skill, excellence and “class” to this production.

If your life’s journey is like most, you have experience both highs and lows, joy and sorrow, success and difficult challenges. Our expressions of hope, trust, and dependence on our Lord to lead, deliver and keep us safe and secure, even during life’s darkest times, are well placed.

Psalm 147:11: the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

Isaiah 40:31: but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Romans 15:13: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
